Solar has now reached a level of technological maturity where it can compete on price with conventional sources of energy. As a business investment, it’s as competitive as more conventional energy sources, such as oil and gas.

Solar energy is free and plentiful
Land-based solar farms are only marginally more expensive than electricity from a new coal-fired power station – and its cost is equal to electricity from a new natural gas-fired plant. But that’s not taking into account the cost of CO2 emissions.
