Solar Engines are competitive
Solar has now reached a level of technological maturity where it can compete on price with conventional sources of energy. As a business investment, it’s as competitive as more conventional energy sources, such as oil and gas.
Solar energy is free and plentiful
Land-based solar farms are only marginally more expensive than electricity from a new coal-fired power station – and its cost is equal to electricity from a new natural gas-fired plant. But that’s not taking into account the cost of CO2 emissions.
Improving technology to drive competitiveness
Our aim is to bring down the cost of renewable electricity. Verdegía is already the a leader in renewable technology and we are working to constantly improve our systems and services even more. Take the 39 kW Solar Engine. It’s light, its´s small, its´s powerful and easy to transport and install. It produces enough energy to supply 12 average european family homes with electricity.

The relative cost and size of the Kender Solar Engine in comparison to traditional renewable energy systems can be calculated using an energy calculator. Note: this should only be used as an approximate calculation and does not include any government incentives.
A production of 288,000kW per year is used to examine the relative costs and size requirements associated with different renewable energy solutions: Note: annual operating costs and maintenance are not factored.
Additionally, many alternative renewable energy systems require land, additional infrastructure and are dependant on environmental conditions (is the wind blowing?) to support such systems - this is an additional cost on top of the technology. Solar Engines are accessible to everyone, from country homes to urban city rooftops - we can all compete for our place in the green energy environment.
Still not convinced? There are four other reasons why solar engine systems are green energy future:
